Episode #22 Guest Star: Alfred Ryder

Alfred Ryder (born Alfred Jacob Corn; January 5, 1916 - April 16, 1995) was an American film, radio and television actor, best known for appearing in over one hundred television shows, including the starring role as a British criminal who could not be killed in Alcoa Presents: One Step Beyond episode "The Devil's Laughter'" (1959). He appeared in the landmark first-aired episode (but not the first episode filmed in production order) of Star Trek on September 8, 1966. In "The Man Trap," Ryder played Prof. Robert Crater, who is hiding the fact that the creature pretending to be the professor's wife, Nancy - as well as who appears to Dr. Leonard McCoy to be the same woman, but his long-past love who seemingly hasn't aged a day - is actually a shape-shifting, sodium-craving, murderous monster who will do anything to get salt. But, as Crater explains, it is also the last of its kind. Ryder played the main alien leader, Mr. Nexus, in the 1967-68

Donald Hugh Harron, OC OOnt (September 19, 1924 – January 17, 2015) was a Canadian comedian, actor, director, journalist, author, playwright, and composer. Harron is perhaps best known for the comedic character Charlie Farquharson from the country music television show Hee Haw. Harron's parents owned and operated Harron’s Cleaners and Dyers in Toronto. Beginning at the age of ten, he earned extra money for the family during the Great Depression, doing "chalk talks" telling humorous stories while drawing caricatures in coloured chalk at company or club banquets, making $10 or $15 a talk. As a result of his performances, he was invited to audition for, and won, a part in the Canadian Radio Broadcasting Commission radio series Lonesome Trail in 1935. After university, Harron appeared in a number of plays and revues in Toronto, including the annual Spring Thaw revue, giving him national exposure when the 1952 edition was broadcast on the newly launched CBC Television

Malachi Throne (December 1, 1928 – March 13, 2013) was an American stage and television actor, noted for his guest-starring roles on Star Trek, Star Trek: The Next Generation, Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, Lost in Space, Batman, Land of the Giants, The Time Tunnel, Mission: Impossible, and The Six Million Dollar Man, and best known as Noah Bain on It Takes a Thief.  Throne was born in New York City to Austro-Hungarian Jews, Samuel and Rebecca Throne, who emigrated to America before World War II. Throne was raised in The Bronx. He first appeared on stage at the age of ten in 1939 in the New York Parks Department production of Tom Sawyer as Huckleberry Finn.  He attended Brooklyn College, and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Throne was a popular guest star on many television series of the 1960s and 1970s, including Mr. Novak (four episodes), The Defenders, Naked City, The Wild Wild West, Ben Casey, The Untouchables, GE True, Combat!, The Fugitive, The Man

Luciana Paluzzi  (born 10 June 1937,  Rome, Italy ) is an  Italian American  actress. She is best known for playing  SPECTRE  assassin  Fiona Volpe  in the fourth  James Bond  film,  Thunderball .  Paluzzi's very first film was an uncredited walk-on part in   Three Coins in the Fountain   (1954). She went on to appear in many movies, most of which were made in her native Italy. In her early films, she is credited as Luciana Paoluzzi. She also played Rafaella, the wife of Brett Halsey's character, Ted Carter, in 1961's   Return to Peyton Place Paluzzi is best known as the villainess, Fiona Volpe, in  Thunderball  (1965). She had auditioned for the part of the lead Bond girl, Dominetta "Domino" Petacchi, but producers cast Claudine Auger, changing the Domino character from an Italian to a Frenchwoman and renaming her Dominique Derval.
