UNCLE Special Guest: Fritz Weaver

Fritz Weaver played the first villain of the series The Man From UNCLE. He played the role of Andrew Vulcan, a typical mega businessman with bad intentions. But at the same time it was a human villain, with a weakness: his passion for an old girlfriend, Elaine (Patricia Crowley). Fritz Weaver, the American actor, was born on January 19, 1926, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He served in Civilian Public Service as a conscientious objector during World War II, breaking into acting in the early 1950s. He made his Broadway debut in October 1955 in "The Chalk Garden," which garnered five Tony Award nominations, including one for Weaver as Best Featured Actor in a Play. He also won a 1956 Theatre World Award for his performance.  The first of literally scores of television appearances came in 1957, in "The Playwright and the Stars" broadcast as part of the drama omnibus  Studio One  (1948). Written by Jeff Parker with art by David Hanh, this crossover has seen Batman team up with top secret agents Napoleon Solo and Illya Kuryakin on a mission to take down a sinister group known as THRUSH (because all good spy stories are about covert organisations with great acronyms for names) before they can take over the world. UNCLE Special Guest: Patricia Crowley

Patricia Crowley was the co-star in the very first The Man From UNCLE episode, The Vulcan Affair . She was perfect in the role of Elaine, a housewife in the middle of international intrigue. Patricia is still alive. Patricia  " Pat "  Crowley  (born September 17, 1933) is an American actress.  Crowley played Sally Carver in the film   Forever Female   (1953), starring Ginger Rogers   and   William Holden . She starred as Doctor Autumn Claypool alongside   Martin and Lewis   in   Money from Home   (1953), and in their final film together   Hollywood or Bust   (1956), in which she played Terry Roberts. Her roles in   Forever Female   and   Money from Home   led to her receiving the   Golden Globe Award for New Star of the Year - Actress .  She also co-starred with   Rosemary Clooney   in a 1954 musical,   Red Garters , and with   Barbara Stanwyck   and   Fred MacMurray   in the 1956 drama   There's Always Tomorrow .  Crowley made guest appearances in many television
